Suddenly, I found myself less and less interested in the team. For no reason that I could really spot, until the protests really started: this wasn't Wimbledon. It wasn't the team that I had supported for all that time; where had the Crazy Gang spirit gone; the characters that made the club stand out? Everything had fallen apart bit by bit, to make us "just an ordinary team". There was nothing romantic or appealing about Wimbledon FC to me anymore, and I really didn't care.
Many people have said that AFC Wimbledon are the real Wimbledon, and indeed they are, but what one must remember is that we will carve our own identity; I doubt that it will be anything like the identity Wimbledon FC had for themselves in the 1990's. One thing I do promise is that we will make our way up the leagues, to bigger and better things.
