Sean O'Hanlon and Jude Stirling have not started a game this season because of injury and so Ince is desperate to sign a new defender, hopefully before the live telivision game against Norwich City on Monday night.
"We're trying to get someone in on loan," Ince has said.
"I'm not sure we have much time to do that now so it may be a case of asking someone else to play there.
"Mark Carrington may have played there for Crewe before so we are looking at whatever options we can think of."
