AFC Wimbledon Vs Dulwich Hamlet

Last updated : 12 July 2002 By
Tomorrow sees newly formed AFC Wimbledon venture to Champion Hill to play Dulwich Hamlet. Dulwich Hamelt's previous highest attendance was in 1998, where the crowd reached 1,800. The capacity for the stadium, Champion Hill, is only 3,000. This means that for all the fans that went to Wednesday night's game at Gander Green Lane, some won't be able to get in. GET THERE EARLY!!!

I've compiled some information about how to get to the ground, which should enable you to beat the crowds, and secure a seat.

The best way to get to the ground is by train, and then by bus to somewhere near the stadium. Here are the buses from the stations that will take you to near the ground.

*East Dulwich Station, 200 yards walk to Champion Hill.
*Denmark Hill, 10 minute walk to ground.
*Herne Hill, take bus 37 which stops near to the ground.
*Elephant & Castle, buses 40 and 176 take you near to the ground.
*Victoria Station, bus 185.
*Lewisham, bus 185.
*Surrey Quays or Streatham, bus P13.

The best bet is to go to East Dulwich Station. As it is a stone's throw away from the actual ground. There's a club house at the ground. Heineken is £1.90, and Stella is £2.10. The ticket prices are £6 for adults, and £3 for children, and concessions. My advice is to go there at least an hour before the kick-off, buy a programme, which there will only be 500, selling at £1.50, although they can be ordered and sent to your home after the game.
