Dons v Baggies Preview

Last updated : 13 July 2005 By Franco

Today, Wednesday 13th July sees The MK Dons begin their preseason games. At 7.45pm tonight Brian Robson’s West Brom are the opposition at The NHS.

This is the first meeting between the sides since WBA were promoted to the Premiership and The Dons were relegated to Coca Cola League One in 2003/4.
That season we took 4 points from The Baggies with a 0-0 at home. We took maximum points from the Hawthorns encounter, leaving their supporters stunned and probably ours more so. Having defended for almost the game, we stole the points with our first attempt on goal with ten minutes left to play. A few more displays of resolute and stubborn defending, riding our luck till the concrete cows came home, like this one and who knows where we’d be now.

We look forward to seeing some new faces on the field tonight, with hopefully Morgan, Wilbrams and our favourite loan player Paul ‘sign him up’ Mitchell, which they listened to and got our man from the Pie Eaters. Craig Morgan must be the lower divisions worst kept secret, he was ours, apparently, almost as soon as last season had finished. He wanted us as much as we wanted him, let’s hope it’s a happy marriage and he’s not going back to his mothers leaving the Dons fans in tears.

Expect lots of changes during the game but also expect to hear the MK crowd cheer on their boys in anticipation of seeing them push The Baggies all the way.
No matter what happens on the field, the main talk tonight will be about the Athletico Madrid game in 18 days time (and counting), tickets went on sale today for the must be at game.
